Info: Florida's state tree is a widely seen tree on Amelia Island Plantation.  This evergreen plant can grow up to 70 feet tall.  The terminal bud of the tree can be eaten and tastes a lot like cabbage. The leaves of the tree can be up to 9 feet wide and are often wider than they are long.  Often reccommended for landscaping this tree is built for touch conditions and high salt tolerance.
