Sea Lettuce

Name: Sea Lettuce           

Scientific Name: Ulva Lactuca

Info: Aquatic plant that grows extemely well in the tidal salt marsh.  Very adbundant during summer months and looks like pieces of green trash bags floating in the water, this plant is a favorite for sea turtles and manatees. This plant is often cooked in soups and used in salads for human consumption.  Sea lettuce is used heavily in the aquarium trade for its high nutrional content and edibility.
