Endangered Status: Critically endangered

Info: These baleen whales, are slow moving docile whales and are commonly found near the coast.  They were a once sought after whale because of their high fat content.  The are name the right whale because they were the "right" whale to hunt and will float after being killed.  The 2017 calving season led to no new birth which increase their risk of extinction.  The eastern north Atlantic whale population is believed to be numbered in the teens and scientist believe they are functionally extinct.
